Provided design and programming support for the development of an interactive electronic technical manual (IETM), built with Advanced Integrated Maintenance Support System (AIMSS 4) authoring tool set. Integrated Macromedia Flash movies and other graphics into IETM. Meet with engineering personnel to obtain source data and develop final IETM to MIL-STD-1388-2A/2B and MIL-PRF-49506.
· Perform quality check of ALTP Runtime v1.0.1, including review of ship’s data including AWS element diagrams, logic/block, interface and wiring diagrams, cable run sheets and other technical documents. Analyzed the Class IV IETM process for alternative authoring solutions based on open standards.
· Worked with MS2 engineering to prepare a Software Requirements Specification (SRS) for Aegis Signal Tracing Program (ASTP) with Microsoft Word.
· Transferred data from Aegis Weapons Control System (WCS) Class IV IETM to a Framemaker SGML document. After conversion of the data to XML, the file was checked and tagged with Arbortext Epic Editor 5.1 to conform with style and author guides. Compared system functional diagrams to existing schematics and provided markups to graphics department, including coordination and follow-up of SVG and CGM graphics. Provided Visual Basic macros to streamline the conversion of data between SGML, MS Office and XML formats.
· In support of SHIPALTS and other weapons systems engineering updates, used Epic Editor and Framemaker to modify legacy files for Aegis radar and other subsystems.
